Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cargo Van
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cargo Van
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cargo Van offers drivers the best of both worlds: Maximized efficiency and plenty of cargo volume. Its exterior is refined, featuring the distinctive Mercedes grille and sculpted bumpers, but most importantly, it can be optimized for your specific needs. In 2016, there are two lines to choose from – the Cargo Van 2500 and Cargo Van 3500 – and a variety of configurations. There are three wheelbase lengths – 144-feet, 170-feet and 170-feet extended. Plus, there are three available roof heights – standard, high roof, and super high roof. The Cargo Van 2500 line has a cargo volume range of 319 to 586 cubic feet, while the Cargo Van 3500 line has a range of 329 to 516 cubic feet.
The Sprinter’s cockpit is designed to make your work easier. With ergonomic controls, comfortable seating, and in-dash storage, the Sprinter offers convenience and comfort – it’s your mobile office. Yet, what makes the Cargo Van line a favorite for businesses is its useful, well-designed cargo bay. The 2500 and 3500 both feature nearly straight-up walls, perfect for precision loading, and they’re available with rear- and dual side-loading doors. The Sprinter’s cargo bed has a maximum length of nearly 14 feet (in 170-foot extended models), and with the Super High Roof option, almost anyone can stand up in the cargo bay.
With a range of connected tech options, as well as innovative safety technology, the 2016 Sprinter Cargo Van is one of the most technologically advanced cargo vehicles on the market. Connected options include:

Additionally, the Sprinter Van is backed-up by a range of safety sensor features, including a rear Back-Up Camera, a parking warning system, and blind spot monitoring.
The 2016 Sprinter Van is available with your choice of three engines. The standard diesel engine – a turbocharged 4-cylinder BlueTEC® – delivers 265 pound-feet of torque and durability. The transmission is a 7-speed automatic, 7G-TRONIC, which offers up to 18 percent greater fuel economy. Drivers also can choose a 6-cylinder BlueTEC® supercharged diesel either with FWD or 4×4.
In terms of cargo carrying volume, the Sprinter is designed for maximum carrying capacity. It has a maximum GVW Rating range of 8,550-11,030 pounds, a maximum payload of 3,500-5,000+ pounds, and a max towing capacity of 5,000-7,500 pounds.
The 2016 Sprinter Van is available with a variety of safety technologies that enable more confident driving in a variety of conditions. Options include:
- Lane Keeping Assist: This system monitors road markers using front-mounted cameras. If an unintentional lane departure is detected, the driver is alerted with visual and audio signals.
- Blind Spot Assist: This optional feature monitors rear cross-traffic and the vehicle’s blind spots. If vehicles are detected in the blind spot, a visual warning appears on the side mirrors, and an audio alert also helps to warn the driver.
- Collision Prevention: This system helps prevent fender benders by detecting vehicles ahead. If a possible collision is detected, the system automatically applies the brakes and seeks to minimize crash speeds.
Plus, standard safety features include anti-lock brakes, brake assist and driver and passenger airbags.
